Emma Bridgewater decorate their ceramics in two ways. The first is spongeware, where craftspeople hand-apply designs using natural sponges, giving each piece a beautifully imperfect, one-of-a-kind quality, you can see this in designs such as the Wise Witches and Antique Roses mugs. The second is transfer print, where intricate designs are applied with precision, as seen in the Autumn Flowers and Foxgloves mugs.
